Colour version of Tony is out!

We did it! With the power of additional colour RAM and extra 4 bits on the data bus of the VIC-II, we deliver a colourful version of Tony: Montezuma's Gold! For Commodore 64 of course. To keep the monochrome lovers happy, we have kept the mono version as an option. It's almost 100% identical to the one you've already played. Even scheme selection via F1 works.

Remember, if you own the game, this update is free.

Here's a full list of changes in version 2.1:

  1. Added colour support to the game. Users can still select a monochrome version in the colour selection menu.
  2. Graphics fixes (mostly level 1) to eliminate colour artefacts when running on real hardware.
  3. Control scheme unified with Atari and Amiga versions (FIRE must be released and pressed again to jump).
  4. Mask can no longer be collected if inventory is full of keys.
  5. Improved the physics of moving stone traps, it is no longer possible to jump onto the stone.
  6. A rare bug where items would stop being collected has been fixed.
  7. A minor fix has been applied to all levels to prevent illegal transitions between rooms.
  8. Unpassable bat in level 1 has been fixed and can now be avoided without losing a life.
  9. Corrections in monochrome themes: Amber and C128.

    fantastic update :)

2.1 is color version while 2.0.1 is previous monochrome one?

Version 2.1 also supports monochrome mode, it can be selected in menu.

2.0.x however, had some extra feel that current version is lacking (like everything is monochrome plus there are fade between rooms) therefore I keep 2.0.x in download section.
