C.E.T.A.S. –  is a high-resolution monochrome underwater shooter developed for Atari XL/XE, Atari 400 Mini, and Atari 8-bit XL/XE emulators.

The game features stereo music using the Double POKEY expansion, delivering a richer audio experience, as well as support for Turbo hardware expansions. Turbo support allows the game to display more enemies and objects on screen while providing smoother movement and animation.

The Story

It is the year 1942.

German U-boats are mercilessly destroying Allied ships across the Atlantic. Traditional naval engineering has failed. Desperate, the U.S. government takes one final gamble: they bring 86-year-old Nikola Tesla from a hotel in New York and give him an unlimited budget and a secret laboratory hidden deep beneath the ocean.

Tesla rejects the idea of building conventional metal warships. He believes that the ocean itself possesses enormous energy, and that the perfect conductor for his technology would not be a machine — but a living, powerful creature.

The choice falls upon a gigantic sperm whale — an alpha male whose entire pod was annihilated by German depth charges. The whale survives, but burns with a desire for revenge.

Together with a team of trusted Serbian scientists who escaped occupied Europe, Tesla modifies the whale, combining its extraordinary biological sonar with his own inventions based on alternating current and wave resonance.

Thus, C.E.T.A.S. – Cybernetically Enhanced Tactical Aquatic Systems is born — a living warship, guided and empowered by the genius of Nikola Tesla.

Now, the whale is ready to enter the depths of the Atlantic and hunt the German U-boats.
